Episode CXXXIV – An Offering of Fish

This offering of joy was made to our most reverential and pious pilgrims by a heathen priestess who upon feeling the fire of righteousness and unable to stop from writhing in well deserved pain agreed to confess her guilt and reveal where the most sacred relics of her altar were kept. As they proved to be encrusted with jewels and pleased us mightily and in as much as her wish was to end the agony of faith to which we had given her in an effort to wreak her salvation, we acquiesced with the use of a flail and reveled in our charity and by giving further thanks to all her kin.

Episode KLD-123a – The Peckrats

We soon found ourselves accompanied by small birdlike creatures that appeared almost tame, chirping at us and following us wherever we went. About knee high and seeming harmless enough we welcomed them and enjoyed their company. And, they seemed to enjoy ours, at least at first. Before we knew it there were many more of them than could be imagined. And, as the flocks of them grew they became emboldened, sometimes stealing a morsel from our plates, sometimes nipping at our fingers when we fed them, sometimes attempting to nip an ear or other appendage, until they were drawing blood regularly and their bites grew more insistent and their true intent and the horror was revealed, almost too late.
