Episode MMXXIII– Inquisitors

Condemned and despairing, we were spared no humiliation or insult as female guards of the most shameless sort were put upon us. Cavorting about in naught but their fierce weapons they attempted to enrage and distract us from our devotions and our reading of the True Sage’s word. But, we knew that ours would be the reward of martyrs if but we held true to our faith and so, averting our eyes as best we could, we cursed them and bade that they stop bringing dishonor to their families by accepting the coverings of modesty and return to their homes and submit to the rule of men as has been dictated by law. They merely laughed at our efforts to save them from themselves and reminded us that our efforts to whip them for indecency were the reason why we were facing a cruel fate. They would not be saved and so we held court and issued an edict condemning them all to beheading, as the law so dictates. For there is no mercy for those who fail to heed the sacred book and so it would be for them although, through the work of satanic forces, we would soon be unable to carry out their sentence. Episode MMXXI – The Retribution

Not soon after we had made camp at a certain smoking well, we found ourselves drowsy and our company fell into a deep and dreamless sleep. But, upon awakening we encountered the worst of nightmares for it seems that this spring is a dwelling place of evil. Looking about us as the web of sleep let our souls again free and as our stupor subsided, we, found a number amongst had been used sorely with many of these poor pilgrims being dead from frightful bite marks, some of whom had been half eaten from head to feet. A few others, still alive, awoke to agony and possessed with writhing fits that there was little to do for them but to provide the mercy of the ax. And, then we found the foul beast that had come among us and caused so much misery and torture. Upon catching it, we dealt it our retribution for its guilt, despite its confession and prayers for forgiveness and understanding. Its meat was good.

Episode XIXCIV – Nahgrah

This mythic beast, The Nahgrah, is sacred to all but the unwashed as the Guardian of the Revered Orb and as such the subject of great devotion and a worthy recipient of many sacrifices from among those who do not willing accept the true expressions of devotion and must be cleansed of sinful ways and failure to confess guilt by much smiting and other rectifications, including chain, ratchet and dredge, both inside and out until there is little but smoke and cinder and our supplications that they had not suffered unduly.
